FAQs

Q: How much do you charge for XYZ home repair/maintenance service?

A: Our rates depend on the time and complexity of a project.  In order to ensure value and workmanship to our customer's standards we don't have set hourly rates and we prefer set project pricing.  This way the price we give is the price you pay, no hidden fees, no haggling, no overtime, etc.  When you call or text we can oftentimes offer pricing based on a quick conversation of what you are needing.  

Q: Do I need to purchase any materials or equipment for you to complete the project?

A: Not if you don't want to, AP Renovations, Inc. will furnish all of the materials and equipment needed to complete the project​ and it will be included in the pricing unless you would prefer to furnish some or all of the materials yourself.

Q: When is my payment due?

A: Payment is generally due upon completion of service.  We accept all major credit/debit cards, cash, check, CashApp, and mobile pay.

Q: How much will my service cost?

A: Some services may cost as little as $100 or up to thousands depending on the size and complexity of the project.  When you call, text, or email requesting service we can give you an estimate of the cost but will sometimes need to see the project to make sure our estimate is as accurate as possible.

Q: I've had something come up and need to cancel/reschedule my service appointment, what are you cancellation/rescheduling policies?

A: We ask that our customers give at least 48 hours notice for any cancellations or rescheduling appointments.

Q: I would like to remodel my kitchen/living room/bedroom/bathroom, is this something you all offer?

A: Yes, in addition to maintenance services we can complete your home renovation project of any type or size.  We offer free consultations and estimates for this type of work or if you are in the planning stages we can can give you a rough estimate of services based on your project requirements.

Q: What are your rates for general contracting services?

A: We charge on a "fixed fee" schedule so the price we give you is the price you pay, as long as there are no changes to the scope of the project.  Prior to the project we will discuss with you potential additional cost but we do not charge an additional fee on unforeseen costs, only our cost plus overhead.  That way there is no incentive for us to drive up the price as is so common with residential contractors.  Owner requested changes will be charged cost plus overhead and fee based on the agreed upon percentages.  Fee percentages are based on the size and complexity of the project.

Q: Do I need to be present for my maintenance or repair service?

A: While we encourage someone to remain present during the service if they would like, it is not necessary, however payment will need to be made ahead of time or arrangements will need to be made for payment prior to service.

Q: I am needing a wall painted and need to match the existing color, can you help out with that?

A: Yes, we offer paint matching for project of all types.  This includes picking up or removing a portion of the wall or item that has the color to be matched, matching and pick up of the paint, and as much paint as is needed to complete your project.  Generally we ask for a down payment for the paint prior to this service and will depend on how much paint is needed to complete your project.

Q: Do you haul away and debris from the project?

A: For maintenance/repair services we will clean up the general area of any construction debris, bag and move to customers trash receptacle but we will not remove debris from the property.  For larger contracted projects a dumpster will be provided and the cost will be included in the project cost.

Q: Do you all do popcorn ceiling removal?

A: Due to the likelihood of popcorn ceilings containing asbestos, we usually recommend hiring a licensed asbestos abatement company to complete popcorn ceiling removal.  If your popcorn ceiling removal is a part of a larger renovation project, your home is newer construction, or you have has professional tests certifying that your ceilings do not contain asbestos then we may be able to accommodate your needs.

Q: I live outside of your service area, can you still provide maintenance services to me?

A: Yes but services outside of our service area may incur additional costs for trip expenses plus any related business privilege costs, or taxes, if applicable.  Travel cost will be included in your estimate.
